Cricket's three formats and major tournaments

T20 cricket is the most familiar format for Bangladeshi fans — quick decisions and last-over tension. BPL is held on home soil every year, while IPL showcases the best cricketers in the world. When Bangladesh Tigers play in the T20 World Cup, the whole country gathers in front of screens even if they can't be at the ground.

In ODI cricket, every partnership and power play strategy across 50 overs influences betting decisions. Test cricket is played over five days — here, draw is a separate result alongside a match winner, which doesn't exist in T20 or ODI.

ICC events such as the Test Championship and Champions Trophy offer major market opportunities on the international stage. Before placing bets on these tournaments at evobet, it's worth reading the terms and conditions once.

Football and other sports

evobet sports betting options for football and cricket

Alongside cricket, evobet also lets you bet on football. A 90-minute football match has match winner, total goals and handicap markets — with draw as a separate result, there are three possible outcomes to work with, compared to two in T20 cricket.

For basketball betting, there are detailed options ranging from quarter-based markets to full-match point lines. A complete guide to basketball betting is available on a separate page.

Since each sport has its own pace and distinct markets, it's more effective to get familiar with one first and then gradually move on to others.

Popular Betting Markets

Match Winner

Which team will win the match is the simplest market. In T20 there are two outcomes (Team A or Team B); in Test there are three including a draw. Each outcome has its own odds.

T20 · ODI · Test

Toss Winner

Which team will win the toss before the match starts is a separate market. Since the toss often matters on Bangladeshi pitches, there is interest in this market.

Pre-Match

Top Batsman

Who will score the most runs for a team. There are separate markets for each team, so it's possible to bet individually for each innings.

Innings-Based

Total Runs Over/Under

Whether the total runs in a match will be above or below a set number — this market has no more than two options. For example, you can bet on whether an innings will produce more than 160 runs.

Over · Under

Multi Bet

Combining multiple matches or markets together can increase the potential return. However, if any single selection is wrong, the entire bet is lost — the risk is correspondingly higher.

Multi Bet

Wicket and Bowler Markets

Which bowler will take the most wickets or at what score the first wicket will fall — these markets are popular among fans who know their cricket.

How to read odds

At evobet you'll see three types of odds formats — decimal, fractional and American. All three represent the same outcome of the same match, just written differently.

Decimal Team A to win, odds 2.50 — a ৳500 bet returns ৳1,250 in total if it wins (৳750 profit + ৳500 stake); if it loses, ৳500 is gone.
Fractional The same outcome written as 3/2 — meaning ৳3 profit for every ৳2 staked, so ৳750 profit on a ৳500 bet.
American The same outcome written as +150 — the plus sign means ৳150 profit on a ৳100 bet. On a ৳500 bet the total return is ৳1,250.
Favourite Team B to win, odds 1.50 (decimal) = 1/2 (fractional) = −200 (American). A ৳500 bet returns ৳750 (৳250 profit). American minus odds show how much you need to stake to make ৳100 profit.

All three formats carry the same information. You can choose whichever one you find easiest to read.

Live Betting

In-play betting during the match

In-play betting means you can still place bets after the match has started. Odds update immediately after every wicket or big six.

Say two wickets fall in the first five overs — Team A's odds of winning will lengthen because their position is difficult. On the other hand, if 60 runs come up in the power play, Team A's odds will shorten. These movements are what make live betting different.

In T20 the result can turn in the last 5 overs, so in-play markets move very quickly. In ODI the over/under market tends to stay more stable during the middle overs.

Useful tips for starting out

01
Start with one market. Get comfortable with the match winner market first — it's the most straightforward. Once you're familiar, try top batsman or over/under.
02
Understand the risk in multi bets. Three selections at odds of 1.70 × 1.80 × 1.90 = around 5.81. A ৳100 bet returns ৳581 if everything is correct, but if any one selection is wrong the whole bet is lost.
03
Keep your budget separate. Betting is for entertainment, not a source of income. Set a fixed amount each week and don't go beyond it.
04
Be patient with live betting. Odds move fast, so take a moment to assess the situation rather than placing a bet in a rush.
05
Follow responsible gambling guidelines. Reading the responsible gambling guidelines and setting your own limits is a good habit. This site is not for anyone under 21.
All evobet services including cricket betting are for people aged 21 and above only. Betting is entertainment — do not chase money you have lost.

Frequently Asked Questions

In T20 there are only 20 overs, so odds shift quickly and the match winner market has just two possible outcomes. In ODI the game spans 50 overs, and odds stay relatively stable in the middle phase. Test cricket is played over five days and a draw is a third possible result — that's what sets Test betting apart.

In in-play betting the balance of the match shifts after every ball and every wicket. When a team is playing well and their chance of winning increases, their odds shorten, and the other team's odds lengthen. Power plays, death overs or a key wicket falling — all of it is reflected in the odds.

Yes. You can combine results from multiple matches or different markets within the same match to create a multi bet. If three selections have odds of 1.70, 1.80 and 1.90, the combined odds are around 5.81 — a ৳100 bet returns ৳581 if all win. However, if any single selection loses, the entire bet is lost.

Both are T20 format, so the types of markets are the same — match winner, top batsman, total runs and in-play markets are available in both. The difference is in the level of competition: IPL has more international players, making markets deeper. BPL features locally familiar teams, which gives it a distinct importance for Bangladeshi fans.

Most Bangladeshi bettors find decimal odds the easiest — simply multiply the odds by your stake to get the total return. American odds are written with a plus (+) or minus (–): plus means how much profit on a ৳100 bet, minus means how much you need to stake to make ৳100 profit. All three formats carry the same information, just presented differently.
